A Tourists Guide to Munich Germany

Even though Munich is only the third largest city in Germany it still has a lot to offer residents and tourists alike. Over 1.3 million people live in Munich, and thousands of tourists travel through the city on a yearly basis. All of these people go a long way in making Munich one of the most financially profitable areas in the entire country. Munich also serves as the state capital of Bavaria so it has a very strong politic pull as well.

Munich is located on the River Isar near the northern part of the Alps. This makes for great living conditions for residents and great views for tourists. The great landscape alone is responsible for drawing in many of the tourists that Munich hosts every year. And as long as the tourists keep showing up, Munich will continue to thrive in the financial markets.

When visiting Munich you should prepare for precipitation. Being that the city is so close to sea and the Alps, precipitation can be quite heavy year round. If you live in Munich you have become used to this weather by now, but if you are only visiting you may find this to be a bit tricky. In many cases downpours can start without much notice and totally soak the area. Being prepared for this is very important if you are going to be traveling in Munich. Snow is also a common occurrence during the winter months in Munich. During the winter months average temperatures are in the low 30s. On the opposite end of the spectrum the month of July is the warmest with temperatures averaging around 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

The city of Munich is home to several churches that have been standing in the area for quite some time. They are architecturally gorgeous, and are very popular attractions of tourists to the area. Munich is also the home to castles and theaters that also fall into the architecturally beautiful category. The Alte Hof is the most frequently visited castle in the area, and is a treasure to the city of Munich.

The nightlife in Munich is among the best in Europe. The bottom line is that even if you are the biggest partier it will take you quite some time to frequent all of the hot spots in the city. These hot spots include dance clubs, bar, breweries, and restaurants just to name a few.

Servicing Munich through the sky is the Franz Josef Strauss International Airport. This airport has only been around since 1992 making it one of the most modern in all of Europe.

Even though Munich may not be the biggest city in Europe, there is still plenty to do if you want to make a visit. The tourism industry is Munich is booming, and there is no reason that you cannot add to this trend. You could have the time of your life in Munich partying and sightseeing.
