Hurricane Katrina - How to Help Those That Were Abandoned

As you already know, Hurricane Katrina has devestated the Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama Coasts. It has destroyed property and human lives. This is a plea for those that can't speak for themselves, those that were abandoned by owners, those that are suffering and starving to death, those that God has entrusted to our care ...

There are thousands of dogs, cats, horses and other animals still to be rescued in all of the areas ravaged by the Storm. In particular, New Orleans has countless dogs that are stranded and trapped in houses, swimming in the toxic water, with nobody to help them.

Do not believe everything you see on TV. I have been in constant contact with the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), FEMA, the Humane Society and the International Federation for Animal Welfare (IFAW), and they are having an awful time trying to rescue these poor pets.

Did you know that these organizations were prevented by local and state governments from entering New Orleans, until last Saturday ? The Hurricane was last Monday ! The IFAW was only allowed to go in two days ago !

The government thought it was too dangerous and would not allow them to rescue animals. They may have had good intentions, but it has been at the cost of countless innocent animals in extreme distress. Funny thing is : Reporters from all TV stations, like CNN, were allowed in from the very beginning. Did you notice any of them on the scene on Television reports, in the water, on the streets, reporting to viewers ? So, only select people were allowed in. The cruelty is hard to believe.

They forced people to leave without their pets before the storm hit, and now, they are trying to force people who stayed in the city to leave, and leave their pets behind !

Okay, that's my litle bit of venting. Right now, that won't help matters. What will help is immediate help directed at these Relief Organizations.

These abandoned animals don't have much time left. They won't survive much longer.

All of these organizations are scrambling to find and pull dogs and cats and other animals from New Orleans and other areas. But, they rely on donations from concerned people, like yourself. Would you please consider making a donation, however small, to one of the Animal Rescue organizations listed below :

Thank you for caring. God will surely bless you for helping.
