Chiropractic Colleges

Today's chiropractic colleges offer a broad academic and training curriculum geared with the modern chiropractor in mind. In present day, students that desire to pursue an education in chiropractic must understand that specific prerequisites must first be met prior to applying to a chiropractic college: Required coursework often includes a minimum of 90 undergraduate hours in various subjects including social sciences, humanities, and sciences.

Chiropractic college students will learn about this natural healing art and principles thereof. Common chiropractic curriculum is comprised of basic sciences, chiropractic techniques and philosophy, business management, and clinical internship. Furthermore, chiropractic apprentices will soon discover that alternative medicine schools such as this will present intense academic studies, which is all important to the future practitioner's level of competence and expertise.

There are a number of chiropractic colleges that provide pre-chiropractic studies and bachelor degree programs, in addition to Doctor of Chiropractic courses. In general, chiropractic programs often require a minimum of 4,000+ combined class, clinical and laboratory hours to complete. Subject matter included in this course is anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, public health, laboratory and physical diagnosis, geriatrics, physiotherapy, neurology, and nutrition.

Additionally, some chiropractic colleges provide extended healing arts studies and postdoctoral education and training in more focalized disciplines of applied chiropractic sciences, family practice, neurology, nutrition, orthopedics, and pediatrics - to name a few.

With the ever-increasing need for quality health care, chiropractic colleges are leading the way in alternative medicine by teaching the highest standards in chiropractic education today. Successful graduates can anticipate lucrative earnings and a productive job market as employment growth in this field is expected to be very positive.
